National Junior Honor Society
All 6th and 7th grade students who excel in Scholarship may to apply to become a member of the NJHS each Spring, starting on April 1st . Once the application process is over, applicants may be selected into membership provided the faculty council feels the applicant meets the requirements of Citizenship, Leadership, Service, and Character.
The requirements of a National Junior Honor Society student are as follows:
- Scholarship: must have (and maintain) a GPA of 85 or higher
- Character: must show good character in and out of school
- Leadership: willingness to guide others along the right path
- Service: dedicated to helping your school and community
- Citizenship: should be a strong role model for others
In addition, if accepted into NJHS, students will need to complete the following requirements:
- Attend at least 7 meetings each school year
- Participate in at least 2 group community service events
- Participate in at least 2 individual community service events
