Clash at the Creek Wrestling

The Annual Clash at the Creek Duals brought together seven teams—Bloomfield, East Rochester City, Hannibal, Lyons, NRW, Red Creek, and Red Jacket—for an exciting competition. Hannibal emerged victorious, going undefeated with a perfect 6-0 record. Lyons secured second place with a strong 5-1 finish. Our RC Rams clinched third place after defeating Bloomfield, East, Red Jacket, and NRW.

At the inaugural Girls' Clash at the Creek Freestyle event, 11 teams from various sections competed, showcasing impressive skill in Freestyle wrestling. A big shoutout to Callie Butler for her 2nd place finish in her weight class and for being ranked 60th in Section 5’s top 100 hammers. Special congratulations to Rose Southwick, who claimed her second consecutive tournament win and holds the 16th spot in the rankings.

Varsity Girls Wrestling Begins Season

The Rams girls varsity wrestling team participated in two weekend events.

Friday Night in Newark Valley
The Lady Rams kicked off the weekend with a round-robin tournament in Newark Valley, facing strong competitors from mostly Section 4 teams.

  • Rose Southwick fought hard, finishing with a 3-2 record and earning 5th place out of 10.
  • Callie Butler also delivered a solid performance, ending the night with a 3-2 record and securing 5th place out of 9.

Saturday’s Lady Alexander Invitational
Early Saturday morning, the team hit the road again, departing at 6 a.m. for the Lady Alexander Invitational. Despite the challenging schedule, both athletes showed resilience.

  • Callie Butler battled through the day, demonstrating her growth and determination despite a few setbacks. She finished 4th out of 9 competitors.
  • Rose Southwick had an exceptional day, dominating her bracket and going undefeated with a 4-0 record to claim the top spot on the podium.

By the end of the weekend, both wrestlers achieved impressive results:

  • Callie Butler: 6-4 overall record
  • Rose Southwick: 7-2 overall record, including a championship win at the Lady Alexander Invitational.

Next up for the Lady Rams is their home event, the Clash at the Creek Girls’ Freestyle Event, on December 22.
