Principal's Message
Dear Red Creek Middle School Families,
We are excited to welcome your children to the 2022-23 school year! I wanted to share some important information prior to the first day of school.
Wednesday, September 7, 2022, will be a day filled with activities and information as students participate in our annual Red Creek Middle School "RAMS Day". In addition to going over Middle School expectations, handing out chromebooks, and introducing our PBIS initiatives for the year, students will participate in some opening day activities. This year we will be recognizing positive behavior from our students who demonstrate RAMS. RAMS stands for, Respectful, Accountable, Mindful and Safe.
Traditional classes will begin on Thursday September 8th, and it will be a "B" day for scheduling purposes. Classes will start at 7:45 and students will be expected to be seated and prepared at that time each day. Please help us to reinforce the importance of being on time and present as much as possible. Middle School bus riders will be picked up and dropped off at the HS main entrance, while walkers and parent pickups and drop offs can take place at the MS entrance.
We will be returning to having students use their lockers this year, and students are encouraged to use their lockers to store school and personal belongings. Students will NOT be permitted to carry backpacks this year. Students should keep cell phones in their lockers. All middle school students will eat in the MS/HS cafeteria this year, middle school students will have different lunch periods than high school students and all lunches will be 20 minutes in length.
This year, our advisory time will take place during the middle of the day. AH students will be placed in small grade level advisory sections. Advisory will focus on Social Emotional Learning and will be 20 minutes daily. We will use this time to provide Social-Emotional check-ins, reinforcing soft skills, and introducing our monthly PBIS initiatives.
The Red Creek Central School recognizes that our students may have been greatly impacted by the events over the last two years. Mental Health support is available in all buildings. Students and Families who have been affected are encouraged to reach out to our guidance department at (315)754-2070.
